How long will it take?

It obviously depends on the size and type of kitchen but you will be given a definite time with the price.

How long will the water and electricity be off?

Only a few hours in total, never overnight or for prolonged periods during the day.

Will I have use of the cooker, sink, washing machine etc?

Usually not during the fitting of the new kitchen, but if it is essential then temporary facilities can be connected.

How much will it cost?

This depends mainly on the units, modifications, electrical fittings and plumbing. We will almost certainly not be the cheapest fitters - the best rarely are. However, by contacting us at the planning stage it is very likely that we can save you money overall.

Can you design a kitchen?

Yes, but we prefer a joint venture with your requirements coupled with our experience.

Do you use subcontractors?

Never for fitting the kitchen and only occasionally for specialised building work.

Why should I come to you rather than go directly to the showrooms?

The showrooms are selling their kitchens. We are not connected with any showroom or manufacturer. As we are not motivated by sales & commissions our only aim is for you to get the kitchen you want.

Will there be much mess?

Yes, but dust sheets and a waste skip are used whenever possible and the work area is tidied each evening. You may be surprised how little it affects you.

Is there any guarantee with the work?

All kitchen fittings have the personal guarantee of Colin Puttick. All appliances have a manufacturers guarantee, but if there is a problem with fitting then we will resolve it. In over 20 years we have never been called back for remedial work.

Are you insured for accidental damage?

Yes, we have public liability insurance for £2,000,000

Are there any hidden extras?

No, the price you will be given is for fitting the complete kitchen. Any potential additional costs will be discussed with you prior to starting the job.

What do you charge for advice and design?

Nothing unless you want us to accompany you to the kitchen showrooms or warehouses to help select appliances and units. The cost of this service is negotiable.

I have already purchased a kitchen is it too late to talk to you about fitting?

No, but before starting the job I will let you know of any inherent design or fitting problems. That way you will be aware while there is still time to consider changes.

Do you do anything other than fit kitchens?

Yes, I have designed and fitted bedrooms, bathrooms and also made bespoke furniture of all descriptions.
